Megyn Kelly Chills Free Speech the Way it Oughta Should

Ed Morrissey played this clip on his show yesterday, but it bears repeating.  This is only the 2nd Megyn Kelly clip I’ve seen, but she’s 2 for 2 now.

Some have made the tired argument that the Playboy episode amounts to a chill on free speech.  I’d present them this clip, and reply that it has actually resulted in a fine example of same.

That’s the beauty of freedom.  Everybody has it.  In this case, Megyn’s free speech was rock, and Guy Cimbalo’s was scissors.  Game on!

  1. Megyn Kelly is awesome!

  2. Oh for heavens sake, “free speech” trolls: The first Amendment restricts GOVERNMENT’S ability to intrude upon citizen speech.

Last time I checked no government was weighing in on the Playboy hatef*cking matter. Cimbalo displayed his misogyny, the blogosphere complained about it, and companies decided who/what would represent their “brands” and who/what would not.

So far as I can tell all is right in the free speech universe.

  3. Yup. I like to see when someone acts like a child and the info-consumption free market self-regulates. If Playboy continues to fire journalists and retain hacks, then eventually, just like the NYT, it will wither and die. Or not, if that’s what the people want.

And Megyn Kelly IS awesome. I hope there are still strong female role models like her out there when she gets older.
